The Parker Police Department is a full-service, suburban Police Department organized into four divisions: Investigations, Patrol, Professional Standards and Support Services. Investigations, Professional Standards and Support Services are each led by a Commander who is responsible for all personnel, equipment, and services assigned to their command. The Patrol Division is led by three Commanders who cover different parts of the week. The divisions are further divided into teams led by police sergeants or civilian supervisors whose personnel are responsible for the services which the department provides. Overseeing department operations are the Deputy Chief and Chief of Police.
The Investigations Division is comprised of eight detectives who started their law enforcement career as uniformed patrol officers and are assigned to Investigations based upon their knowledge, experience, and investigative ability. The Crime Analyst is also part of the investigations team.
Patrol officers are the most visible element of the Parker Police Department. Officers in marked patrol cars or on police bicycles or motorcycles are regularly seen on calls for service, such as investigating traffic accidents, enforcing traffic laws, or engaging in proactive patrol in our residential neighborhoods.
The Office of Professional Standards oversees the functions of Accreditation, Community Outreach, Crime Prevention, Internal Affairs, Public Information and Training. This division is vital to the basic operations of the Police Department.
